In April 1916, a group of Irish republicans launched a daring rebellion in Dublin to end British rule. While the rebels seized iconic landmarks like the GPO and declared an Irish Republic, they were defeated by British forces within a week. Although a military failure, the execution of the Rising’s leaders radicalized public opinion, shifting the nation’s path toward a full struggle for independence. On this tour, we visit some of the key sites and monuments to those who fought during that fateful week, explore the events that led up to the rising, the events of that week, and the legacy of its aftermath.
