We touched down in Dublin just before lunchtime after 29 hours of travel from Sydney, and our recipe for avoiding jet lag is to stay awake until at least the early evening. We chose David and we couldn’t have been happier. David has an encyclopaedic knowledge of Irish history in general and Dublin’s history in particular, which he drew upon (along with songs and anecdotes tailored to our interests) to weave a fascinating story over several hours that went well beyond anything we could have gleaned from our own research. All of this and a solid introduction to the layout of Dublin – and enough walking to keep us awake until a reasonable time!
